Summer has came and went. Lots of things have transpired in the mean time so here is your update. Congratulations to Ornamental Concrete's own David Charles Deaton who was recently married. Evan and I stood up with him and his lovely bride Jennifer. Shane played at the reception for the couples first dance. Tony Oliver was on hand as well to provide an aura of coolness that none can challenge. Mason unfortunately had a show with one of his many other bands and was unable to attend. A good time was enjoyed by all.
So where's this new OC record we've heard so much about? Well, it's temporarily shelved. Hopefully it won't be for long. Most of my parts were finished but there has been complications in getting the rest of OC recorded. In the meantime, Shane and Tony's other band, Three Wheel Motion, just finished up their debut album at Dave Barrick's studio in Glasgow. I've managed to weasel my way in with them playing keyboards. It's been good to play out again, and it's nice not being the guy with all the responsibilities for a change. Shane does an outstanding job and like I've said before, no one deserves success more than him. Shane is the hardest working musicians I know.
Lastly, I have one more bit of news to share. So far in my recording experience, I've always ended up disappointed with the quality of the albums I've made. Once they were completed and I'd listened to them for a couple months, I'd hear more and more things I wasn't happy with. Now that I am recording digitally on a computer, I can fix and improve like I'm George Lucas. And so I have! In the next few weeks I will be presenting Generator Version 2.0. There hasn't just been remixing and remastering but addition recording, re-recording, and re-tooling. Talk about cathartic. If all goes well, I may even include another instrumental tune I've been working on for the past year. If you'ld like to get your hands on a copy, email me. I may even send this version out to radio and other industry sources since I didn't before. I'll keep it posted.

To quote myself...Time, there never seems to be enough. How true that repeatedly is. So here it is May and no word of the new OC record. Well, I do apologize but sometimes things are not within my control. The good news is that recording resumes this weekend and will hopefully be finished by the end of June.
In completely NON-OC RELATED news, this just in...Hell has frozen over! No, it's not another Eagles reunion. Shame on you.
Thirty-seven years after its initial release date, Brian Wilson's Smile will finally see the light of day. The Beach Boy's much-anticipated album comes out Sept. 28 on Nonesuch records. Cruise over to Wilson's Web site to read the press release.

 | For the past 10 years I've had the privilege of knowing Mr Daniel Thacker. He is a phenomenal musician and a close friend. Besides music, we share many common interests and views. I last saw Dan back in November when we travelled to Nashville together. I haven't heard from him since, despite the multiple voice mail messages I've left for him.
So if you happen to bump into him, force him by any means neccessary to give me a holla! |

We have overhauled the OC site once again. Hope you dig it. Work on The Revenge of OC album continues. With the birth of my daughter and with Shane's son due this week, obviously other priorities delay it's production. As always, we will keep you informed.
